Walk on the nature trail for a self-guided tour to see the raptors in their aviaries. Our gift shop has great items, too. Visitors can watch presentations about raptors , talk to our Wild Wings Educators about the various birds of prey, and read the stories about the birds and how and why they came to live at Carolina Raptor Center. Just want to relax? Enjoy a scenic view under the trees.
In 1998, Carolina Raptor Center opened a large raptor rehab facility. The Jim Arthur Rehabilitation Facility is one of the best such facilities in the country. Many volunteers and wildlife rehabilitators have attended classes and studied under CRC staff.
The education department has both on and off-site programs. On-site approximately 9,000 children are educated about the birds. The Wild Wings traveling program travels to sites throughout the region and has presented programs throughout the Carolinas, to more than 20,000 children every year. Instructors traveling Wild Wings vans travel throughout North and South Carolina with live raptors and curriculum based environmental and cultural programs.
